If you’re going to propose, why not do it outside of the world’s most famous venue right before one of your favorite bands is set to take the stage? Well, Lauren was certainly surprised! (She said yes)

Joe and I worked out a secret meet-up through the Vulfpeck fan online group. He was looking for a photographer to help capture his secret proposal before the show. I am a sucker for a good love story, and after several of my friends tagged me in the post, I reached out to Joe, and we set up a meeting time and place.

I arrived at Madison Square Garden and found a good spot to make it happen. I did not take into account that when Joe and Lauren arrived, thousands of toddlers and their families would be present to see a kids’ show airing in the theater below MSG.  Regardless of the toddlers, it’s New York City and Penn Station. Hundreds of people go through there an hour. I left some of the photos with the people in the background to show you just how busy it was, but then edited them out of others so Joe and Lauren could have some photos of themselves without the distractions in the background.

Once Lauren said yes, people clapped, she cried, and we revealed that Joe had arranged a photographer to capture the moment. We took a few photos of them together, with her showing off the beautiful ring, and then parted ways to get ready for the concert.

This was Vulfpeck’s second time playing MSG, and they once again put on an entertaining show. What a great start to an engagement! I hope Joe and Lauren had an unforgettable trip to NYC, and I’m so happy to have been a part of their special proposal!
