It’s been a bit since you’ve heard from me, I know. For me, starting in October, it’s officially “busy” season. That’s when I have the most sessions and I am busy shooting, editing, printing and mailing until right before Christmas.
The last week of the year is my only real week off and I forced myself to not look at email and just relax.
Now, with the new year upon us, I am re-energized and ready to go! I’ll start with sharing a session that I did recently for a long time client of mine. I’ve done their family portraits, engagement photos, wedding photos, maternity photos and now their new family photos. I was so pleased to be able to capture their newest family member during this last session. It’s so sweet to see my buddy, Joshua, taking on the role of big brother.
This particular session took me out of my comfort zone too as I am usually an outdoor or in home photographer, where I can let kids run around and be themselves and sort of capture them playing. For this session, since it was the middle of December, I rented a studio in Harlem, NY, near where the family lives. It wasn’t my space and there was no room to let the kids run around and be themselves.
I think they came out wonderfully, though, and I’m glad to have such a great family to work with all these years.
