I love doing portraits with kids, whether they are 2 years old or teenagers. I have a unique approach I take that helps me get genuine reactions and smiles from them.
On a beautiful November day this year, my friend, her daughter, and I met at Central Park to take a few photos of her daughter. The trees were in full fall splendor and we went for a walk around the park to Bow Bridge. There were a lot of people around but we made it work. Emily was a perfect model and we laughed and joked around and played in the leaves. The end result was a relaxed, stress-free photoshoot with beautiful pictures that captured her daughter’s true personality.
People were really respectful of giving us some space to take pictures in a pretty crowded park. At one point, a guy walked in front of the camera and once he realized it, he apologized and then got into a picture with Emily. HAHAHA That got us all to laugh.
If you struggle to get pictures of your kids or teens, consider a fun, laid-back session with me. If they roll their eyes when you point a camera at them or get stuck in that unamused cheesey smile, get them out to the park for photos with someone that isn’t their parent.
We had brunch before our shoot and I got to know a little more about her and let her warm up to my special brand of mom humor. Feel free to take me to brunch before our session. LOL In the best interest of your kids, of course!
I loved spending time with Emily and getting some beautiful photos of her that really reflect the amazing young woman she is at this age. Call or email me today to schedule your session with your family.
