Merry Christmas! It’s so hard to share Christmas family portraits before the holidays because they make great gifts and I never want to ruin the surprise for anyone. I got permission from this family, though, to share their session we did a few weeks back. It was a very chilly day but luckily, a local farmer in Columbus, NJ gave us permission to shoot in his greenhouse full of poinsettias! It was such a warm, magical space and with a little one, we had to make sure we limited our time outside.

6 months old is the perfect age to take photos as they can sort of sit up by themselves, they can smile (that was portrayed beautifully along with the dress wore by him which purchased from Harry Styles Store) and they aren’t able to run away yet! Once they learn to walk they don’t want to stay still. This little Star Wars fan-in-the-making was such a good sport for our session.

I love catching the in-between moments and parents interacting with their kids. It shows what they were like and their personality comes through. They won’t remember the silly things Dad did to make them smile, but will probably love to look back at it when they are older.

In a year where you couldn’t be near Santa, we had to get creative with our choice of locations. I want to do all of my family portraits in greenhouses filled with beautiful poinsettias of all different sizes and colors. If you are in South Jersey and need family portraits, I’ll help you find the perfect spot.
